Now we got to my church friends. These people are really important to me, not only because they are good friends, but because our relationship has a solid base, and that is God. Our love for god is what brought us together, and our love for God is what’s keeping us together and our love for God is what’s allowing us to deepen our relationship with one another.

These relationships I hold close to my heart because I know we push each other to become better Christians, and we push each other to keep seeking Him.

I know that these people will always be a part of my life. when I am older, and married with children, I know that these people and their families are the ones my family will always go out with, and spend special occasions with. I know I will grow old with these people.

Carlo florentino

How do I start? I met kuya carlo during my first church camp in 2009. He encouraged me to join the ACTS ministry, our church’s dancing ministry, and from there we developed a strong bond.

I know I can anything and everything to kuya carlo, and he will never judge me. I know he loves me so much and I love him as well.

I consider kuya carlo as my brother, father, best friend, and mentor. We have our one-on-one bible study sessions where he disciples me.

I am so happy that i have kuya carlo in my life. I am so thankful to God for him. he is my spiritual role model.

Nicci idian

I’ve known nicci since I was in grade school dance troupe, but we weren’t close yet. The only reason we got close was because she was the only person I knew during my first camp so I stuck with her. and Im so thankful that I met her because she’s one of the most awesome people ever.

I love nicci because she’s so strong and frank. I love her because she is so genuine. I love her because when im with her, im just in my happy place. I love her because when I talk to her she is empathetic and sympathetic to me. I love her because she is not to emotional and not too logical when it comes to dealing with things.

Nicci is such a fun person I swear but she can be very mataray which I find entertaining and scary at the same time but I love her anway! Hahaha!

Celvin Valencia

Celvin is my best best guy friend. I met him during my first camp as well in 2009. Celvin has always been a friendly person so he was the first one to talk to me.

I was never a friendly person. I was never the type to go out of my way to start a new friendship, but now I think I can do that. Haha! But anyway at that time I wasn’t and cel was the one who would text me and talk to me and eventually we became really good friends.

And the start of our really really good friendship was when he, along with 3 other churchmates got stuck in our house because of ondoy I think. For 3 days and 2 nights they slept at my house.  And from there, our friendship deepened. I call him brother, and he calls me sister. He calls my parents mom and dad, and they call him anak.

Celvin has seen me in my best moods and my worst moods. Celvin has seen me in my best and worst appearances. That’s why I love celvin so much; he knows who I really am and he still loves me.

But im so sad that hes in Singapore now, working so I don’t get to hangout with him anymore. I miss our movie dates and our sleepovers. But anyway, im so proud of him because he knows his priorities and he never forgets his relationship with God.

I pray that we’ll see each other soon, brother. I love you cel!

Samantha “mae” chua monroy

Sam is my youngest bestfriend. I saw her during her first camp in 2010. She was under nicca’s cel group, and nicca and I were already close. But we officially met after camp, when I would hangout at their condo with other friends, and she would tag along.

I know sam didn’t like me then because she was still her judgmental self and she thought I was maarte and not friendly. Hahaha! But eventually we became really really close and I consider her to be one of the closest people I have in my life.

I talk to sam everyday (boyfriend). And I always rant to her even if it irritates me when she doesn’t get it.

Oh and sam makes me laugh. Not because she tells awesome jokes, but because she says the darnest things. I love laughing AT her; She’s an entertainment.

I remember that time when i officially told sam that she’s my bestfriend. I actually texted her and nicca and I said that I realized that theyre the closet people I got and I actually consider them both my bestfriend, and they both agreed and there ITS OFFICIAL. Hahaha

Nicca idian

Nicca is the one I was talking about earlier. I met her during my first camp, but I’ve seen her around school a couple of times. Nicci and nicca are twins, and when I didn’t really know them both personally, I thought they were one person.

I really don’t know how I got close to nicca, but we are in one caregroup in church so we open up to each other a lot and I guess that’s how it started.

Nicca has the most random moods. Although I know im very moody, nicca is too. Sometimes she can be very prickly but sometimes she’s so unexpectedly happy. Im actually getting used to it but at first I didn’t know how to handle it hahahaha

I always go to nicca when I need advice, and when I want to talk about the bible. I go to nicca when I want to shop because shes a shopaholic (shhhh). Oh and one more thing that nicca and I share is that we love laughing at sam. Although she finds sam’s jokes funny, she also joins me in laughing at her. hahahaha

We are both sam’s ates and we try to be the best example for her. I admire nicca’s self control in things (except shopping). Im talking about study habits, Christian-like conduct. When I was still new to Christianity I was always amazed at how nicca is so nice, and I really wanted to be as faithful to God as her.

I know that she is one of the reasons why I grew so much spiritually and I am very thankful to God for giving me a friend like nicca.
